Umami Friends is a Board Game featuring characters and food.

As part of a team of three (Creator, Illustrator, Designer), I am the Graphic and Marketing Design Lead for this project. We started in 2021 and finally debuted it 2024 on Kickstarter, with a public launch date of Summer 2025. It was awarded “Games We Love” by Kickstarter, funded over 500% if the goal, and has over 100 cards designed.

Branding & Strategy

I developed the branding for Umami Friends, color schemes, designed the logo, and created the icon assets that are used throughout the game as well as their website. I worked alongside the Illustrator throughout this project to create a cohesive brand. I also worked alongside the Creator to develop the game strategy, math, and logistics.

Print and Marketing

We decided to launch the project initially on Kickstarter to gain traction. It gained over 500% funding and unlocked all of the rewards that the Game Designer set. I created assets for the Kickstarter, the packaging, the rule guide, social media, and all the cards (over 100 card designs). We even partnered with an animator, sound designer, and the lead Illustrator to create a trailer.
